Day 2 (July
22, 2012)
*up late
*breakfast in sunny square, decided there is nothing that
can touch orange juice that is fresh squeezed
*through picturesque Mouffetard
market
*wandered around Montmartre looking for perfect sport for lunch courtesy H (well,
Fifii la bonne bonne really), found it, thank you Fifi
*metro to Place du Concord to watch Brit win Tour de
France, saw winner’s team bus and that’s it (we would have all been about 8’4”
to have seen anything else with so many others crowding the Champs Ellyses)
*walked through posh shopping district
*said au revoir to H who meets up with a
bunch of strangers in an unknown car to hitch a ride organized over the
internet back to Lyon (which doesn’t faze either one of us and of course she
made it back perfectly well)
*Pantheon (with extremely mesmerizing pendulum)
*rest
chez nous
*drinks in Luxembourg gardens until police whistled everyone out to
close Park
*wandered through St. Germaine area in warmth of a Paris summer evening, marvelling at the public art (and especially one partidular fountain)
