Our apartment in Lyon is like living a dream. Everything is so perfect. It's in the old part of the city, in amongst twisting cobbled streets and shuttered buildings that used to house Lyon's famed silk weavers. You must past through a huge, iron studded front door which leads to a passageway and stairs that curve up past a courtyard into another courtyard. Then another iron studded door that shuts with a satisfying 'ker-chuk'.
Pictures convey a place like this so much better than my words can, so here are some that I hope can come close:
| Martin and Hilary at our front door |
| The view from our front door |
| The clutter on the glass table is so we won't walk into it! |
| Our little kitchen and sleeping platform above |
| The curved stairs - powder room behind |
| One of several little eating/working areas |
Wow! That looks just lovely. Now I am officially envious, darn it!
ReplyDeleteI'm off to make the boys a sandwich on a baguette and make them speak only French to me to try and cheer me up. :-)
A plus tard…..
